Kashi

Some random bells, sitar, tabla

Conch and chants and trumpet’s sounds

Coming from far, not visible to eyes but ears!

Flowing with the breeze over Ganges

There are tobacco, cigarette smells

And in a jiffy, roses come to your rescue!

There is constant insisting and persisting

With the bgm of the waves, birds and dogs

You see non stop chatters and a few silent monks!

Painters, musicians, singers hustling around

The ash clad saadhus, who are not looking for money

And people who make noise with their coins!

The old temples, with exquisite looks

Leaves you stunned and spell bound

The humans though, may disappoint!

Anyway, it’s not between you and them

So move on and drink on that mysticism

You have no answers and maybe no questions eventually!

Each street, each symbol, every four steps

Puts you in an awe, of the past times

And of the incredible devotion!

The river enriching the lives and the death too

The city as beautiful as history

Will stay forever in you!
